Thyroid Profile (T3, T4, TSH)
Pathology

Complete thyroid function panel measuring the three critical thyroid hormones for comprehensive thyroid health assessment. TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) is the most sensitive marker — elevated TSH indicates hypothyroidism while suppressed TSH suggests hyperthyroidism. Free T4 (Thyroxine) is the primary hormone produced by the thyroid gland, while Free T3 (Triiodothyronine) is the most active form. Together, these tests diagnose hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid causing fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance), hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid causing weight loss, palpitations, heat intolerance), thyroiditis, and thyroid nodule evaluation. Thyroid profile is also essential for monitoring thyroid hormone replacement therapy dosage, evaluating infertility, and screening newborns for congenital hypothyroidism. The test is performed using automated immunoassay technology for accurate, reproducible results. No fasting is required. If taking thyroid medication (Thyroxine), take it after the blood draw. Results are typically available within 24 hours with reference ranges and clinical interpretation.
