ECG (Electrocardiography)
Cardiology

Standard 12-lead Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) providing comprehensive evaluation of the heart's electrical activity. The ECG records electrical signals from 12 different angles using electrodes placed on the chest and limbs, producing a detailed tracing of the heart's rhythm, rate, and conduction pattern. ECG is the first-line investigation for chest pain, palpitations, breathlessness, dizziness, and syncope (fainting). It detects arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, heart blocks), acute and old myocardial infarction (heart attacks), myocardial ischemia (reduced blood supply), chamber enlargement (hypertrophy), pericarditis, electrolyte abnormalities affecting the heart, and drug effects (digitalis, QT prolongation). The test is quick (completed in 5-10 minutes), completely painless, and requires no special preparation. Simply avoid heavy exercise 30 minutes before the test and wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing for easy electrode placement. Results are interpreted immediately by our experienced physician and a detailed report with clinical interpretation is provided on the spot.
